DAY 1
Arrival at Bagdogra – Transfer to Phuentsholing
Arrival at Bagdogra Airport, where our representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the Indo-Bhutan border town.
Drive to Phuentsholing, Bhutan’s main commercial gateway connecting India with Bhutan.
The journey passes through scenic tea gardens, foothills, and countryside landscapes.
Upon arrival check into the hotel and relax.
Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
DAY 2
Phuentsholing to Thimphu – Permit Process & Scenic Drive
After breakfast complete immigration formalities and begin your journey to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.
Enroute visit Milarepa Lakhang, a peaceful monastery offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys.
Drive through scenic mountain roads via Gedu with photo stops at 8 Stupas at Gedu, Wankha Waterfall and views of Chukha Hydropower Plant.
Arrival in Thimphu and hotel check-in.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.
DAY 3
Thimphu – Dochula Pass – Punakha – Back to Thimphu
After breakfast, drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass, a scenic mountain pass at 3,150 meters offering panoramic views of the Himalayan range and famous for the 108 memorial chortens.
Continue to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful monasteries located at the confluence of Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers.
Optional activity: Experience river rafting in the Mo Chhu River, offering a thrilling yet scenic ride through Bhutan’s beautiful landscapes.
Also visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in Bhutan, and Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility. Return to Thimphu. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
DAY 4
Thimphu Local Sightseeing – Transfer to Paro
After breakfast, explore the major attractions of Thimphu. Visit Buddha Dordenma, a massive golden Buddha overlooking the Thimphu valley.
Continue to Devi Panchayan Mandir, a peaceful Hindu temple set amidst the hills.
Visit Thimphu City View Point, offering stunning panoramic views of the city. Drive past the National Hospital and enjoy a photo stop at National Memorial Chorten, a sacred monument dedicated to the third king of Bhutan.
Spend some free time at Clock Tower Square, the lively heart of Thimphu city.
Later drive to Paro, visiting Paro Iron Bridge en route, known for its traditional Bhutanese architecture.
In the evening, attend a private cultural show in a farmhouse featuring 8 traditional dances and art forms. Overnight stay in Paro.
DAY 5
Paro Local Sightseeing
After breakfast explore the scenic Paro valley.
Option 1: Visit Rinpung Dzong, a historic monastery known for its beautiful Bhutanese architecture.
Continue to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan built in the 7th century.
Also visit scenic viewpoints of the famous Paro Taktsang, Bhutan’s most iconic monastery perched dramatically on a cliff. Viewpoint only, no trekking.
Enjoy views of the Paro River, Airport Bird Eye View and surrounding Himalayan landscapes.
Option 2: Visit the iconic Paro Taktsang (Tiger Nest), perched dramatically on a cliff above Paro Valley.
Enjoy a scenic trek through pine forests and prayer flag-lined trails. The hike is moderately challenging and takes around 4–6 hours round trip.
Stop at the midway viewpoint for stunning panoramic views of the monastery.
Reach the top to explore sacred temples and experience Bhutan’s spiritual charm.
Option 3: Visit the scenic Chelela Pass, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan offering breathtaking Himalayan views and snow during winters.
On clear days, witness stunning views of Mt. Jomolhari and surrounding peaks. Perfect spot for photography with colorful prayer flags fluttering across the landscape.
Also visit scenic viewpoints of the famous Paro Taktsang, Bhutan’s most iconic monastery perched dramatically on a cliff. Viewpoint only, no trekking.
Enjoy views of the Paro River, Airport Bird Eye View and surrounding Himalayan landscapes.
Among these 3 options any one can be chosen by the tour manager based on the majority of the group.
Get a chance to experience Bhutan’s traditional hot stone bath. Overnight stay in Paro.
DAY 6
Paro to Phuentsholing
- After breakfast, return drive to Phuentsholing.
- Check-in and overnight stay at Phuentsholing.
DAY 7
Return to Bengaluru
- Transfer to Bagdogra Airport.
- Flight back to Bengaluru with unforgettable memories of Bhutan.
